Camp Beavercreek
June 15th-22nd and/or June 22nd-29th
Cost is $150 for one week, and $350 for 2
Deadline: June 7th
Camp Beavercreek through Bruce Plummer at Montana Indian Ministries is a one to two week camp located in the Fort Belknap reservation in Montana. The two main camps are the Teen Cultural Camp for teens grades 6-9, and the Kids VBS and Cultural Camp for kids grades 1-5. These camps involve a plethora of cultural activities not only so the kids feel at home, but to deepen their cultural roots in a fun setting. There is also spiritual content including discussions about the Creator and His Son, talking circles, Native worship music, and prayer.
Those coming to serve are expected to be a camp counselor, kitchen staff, cleaning staff, or to run activity stations. We hope that helpers ages 15-25 (more or less) would be willing to be counselors, as there is always a need for people to directly pour into these kids through spiritual conversations, listening well, and fun! There is an orientation with extensive cultural training the weekend before so people are prepared to be aware and sensitive to the differences, similarities, and wonderful parts about Native culture. All participants are expected to be flexible and willing to help wherever help is needed.
This camp creates bonds that last a lifetime, and is the best part of the year for some of these kids. Anyone is welcome at any point in their faith journey! God always has a plan and a place for people to serve in different capacities.
